Kurt Ard
Kurt Ard is cult figure.
During the 50s and 60s the Danish-born painter and graphic artist was one of the most popular European artists. It was the time in which the title pages of magazines were still illustrated by hand. Ard produced about 260 titles for the leading German TV listings guide HÖRZU. Many of these works were reprinted as a poster or calendar pages. In France Ard became known for Marie Claire and in the USA he illustrated the Saturday Evening post together with the famous illustrator Norman Rockwell.
